How Functional Remedies Produces the Best Hemp Oil on the Planet
⦁ Superior Genetics
Tim Gordon, has dedicated nearly 30 years of his life to developing constantly improving hemp plants which produce higher CBD content than any other available anywhere. Our patented genetics and process consistently produce 100% to 600% more CBD than other CBD products on the market, and our superior genetics are proved and verified by third party labs which regularly test our products.
⦁ Full Spectrum Oil
We produce full-spectrum, CBD-rich hemp oil that encompasses the whole-plant. This is extremely different and far superior to single-molecule, “isolate” CBD which so many other companies sell. Functional Remedies’ CBD contains a diverse range of secondary cannabinoids and other nutrient compounds which isolate CBD does not. As a result, our CBD products foster enhanced therapeutic benefits that most other CBD products lack.
3. Vertical Integration/Single Origin
Functional Remedies owns and control our entire process from seed to farm to harvest to processing, following organic protocols every step of the way. We own our own lab and manage all processes of hemp product development, refinement, and extraction.
Also, we own all of our operations and fulfillment systems and oversee every aspect of product sales and distribution.
This is called “vertical integration” or single origin. From the seed placed in the ground to the bottle or jar in your hand, we oversee with expert precision every step of the process to ensure that you are getting the very best CBD product available in the world.
⦁ Lipid Infusion
Our process for full-spectrum hemp “infusion” is completely unique from common “extraction” processes used by most other CBD companies. Extraction uses pressure and/or chemicals to fracture cells in order to release CBD compounds. This will never yield a true full-plant, full-spectrum product. The Functional Remedies’ “Lipid Infusion” process is gentle, preserves natural cellular bonds, and activates a full-spectrum, entourage cannabis extract which is more effective for your wellness than any other available.
CBD HEMP OIL KNOW THE FACTS ABOUT
Where do I start?
Hey, we get it. Understanding all the terms and trying to compare products to one another is no simple task. Not all manufacturers use the same terminology, disclose the same product origin and ingredient information, or fully describe their processes.
That’s why we’ve created this handy guide that will help you look beyond the label and more closely at how products are made, what they’re made from, and the important differences that impact your health.
Agricultural hemp is part of the cannabis plant family and by definition contains less than 0.3% THC. It must be registered, inspected, and certified by the respective state program in which it is grown and harvested. (Cannabis plants with higher amounts of THC are classified as marijuana.)
CBD is the abbreviation for Cannabidiol, one of many cannabinoids found predominantly in hemp. CBD is non-psychoactive (does not make you “high”) and is considered to be very safe and beneficial.
Cannabinoids are a diverse class of chemical compounds that occur naturally in the body (endocannabinoids) and in several plants, including cannabis. In contrast, phytocannabinoids are the primary chemical compounds found in all cannabis plants.
Properly known as cannabis sativa, cannabis is the “parent” plant of both marijuana and agricultural hemp, which are two very different plants cultivated and utilized in very different ways.
In terms of products, efficacy means that a product has the ability to produce its intended effect. E.g., dish soap is efficacious if it cleans dishes well.
The ECS is a biological system that helps regulate homeostasis (balance) in the body. It is composed of endocannabinoids (cannabinoids naturally produced in the body), enzymes, and cannabinoid receptors (primarily CB1 and CB2) found on cells in the central and peripheral nervous systems and immune system.
True full-spectrum hemp oil is made with the whole hemp plant (NOT a CBD isolate or concentrate) and contains high levels of both cannabinoids and the other beneficial phytonutrients, including terpenes (betacaryophyllene, humulene, and limonene), flavonoids, polyphenols, and others. In contrast, “broad-spectrum” hemp oil is primarily a CBD isolate or concentrate with very small amounts of the other phytonutrients.
THC is the abbreviation for Tetrahydrocannabinol, a psychoactive cannabinoid (one that gets you “high”) found predominantly in marijuana.
Hemp Oil and CBD are NOT the same. NOT EVEN CLOSE
When you see “CBD Oil” on a product label or website, 99% of the time it means the product is made from a CBD isolate or concentrate that’s been extracted from hemp using a harsh CO2 process involving high pressure and/or chemical solvents to fracture cells. This isolates the CBD but can greatly diminish the other beneficial phytonutrients, including other phytocannabinoids (CBDA, CBG, CBN, and others). Also, CO2 extraction often leaves behind residual carbon molecules.
In contrast, a true full-spectrum hemp oil is made with the whole hemp plant and contains high levels of phytocannabinoids plus all the other beneficial phytonutrients, including terpenes (beta-caryophyllene, humulene, and limonene), flavonoids, polyphenols, etc., that act synergistically in your body. CBD oil made from CBD isolate or concentrate is, at best, a broadspectrum oil. In terms of benefits, it’s like comparing freshly squeezed orange juice to orange juice made from concentrate. Unfortunately, many CBD oil companies inaccurately promote their products as full-spectrum.
FAQ Frequently Asked Questions
1.. How do phytocannabinoids interact with and benefit my body’s
endocannabinoid system (ECS)?
The endocannabinoid system is the most complex regulatory system in the body that plays an important role in many other bodily systems, including the nervous, digestive, immune, endocrine, respiratory, and others. Within the ECS there are receptors (namely CB1 and CB2) found on cells throughout the body but primarily in the central and peripheral nervous systems and immune system. These receptors are like locks that can be opened by the right keys—phytocannabinoid and terpene molecules being two of the most important. When these molecules bind to or stimulate the receptors, they deliver specific messages telling the cells how to perform. There is no other plant, adaptogen, herb, or any other phytocompound that serves the multiple
functions that phytocannabinoids serve within the ECS. Not surprisingly, research shows that introducing external phytocannabinoids can be useful in addressing a variety of ailments.
2... What is the entourage effect?
The entourage effect refers to the combined effect of the cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids, and other beneficial phytocompounds in full-spectrum hemp oil working together in synergy. The combined effect is greater than the sum of the individual effects. Full-spectrum hemp oils deliver an entourage effect, whereas single-layer CBD isolates and concentrates have a limited ability to do so.
3... What is lipid infusion and how is it different from other extraction processes?
Lipid infusion is a unique, low-heat process that uses cellular bonding to infuse all of the active beneficial phytocompounds (cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids, and others) with a lipid (preferably coconut oil) while preserving the integrity of the plant molecules. Lipid infusion produces the most nutrient-rich, full-spectrum hemp oil leading to the highest level entourage effect. The lipid infusion process takes longer and is costlier, but the result is a safer and far more efficacious product.
4... What are the common beliefs regarding the benefits of using
hemp oil daily?
Research has shown that introducing external phytocannabinoids, like those found at the highest levels in Functional Remedies full-spectrum hemp oil, may benefit the body in several ways:
· Supporting healthy levels of inflammation
· Promoting a calm and peaceful state of mind
· Supporting restful sleep
· Helping to speed recovery after exercise
5... What are the possible side effects from using hemp oil?
Hemp oil is generally accepted as safe for adults, children, and pets, and there are very few, if any, potential side effects or allergic reactions. The vast majority of people use it without ever experiencing any side effects at all. The rare few who do will most likely experience only minor symptoms, such as dry mouth, which can be relieved by taking hemp oil with food and drinking plenty of water. (As with
any supplement, adult supervision is advised.)
6... Is it legal for a person to use hemp oil in all 50 states?
Yes. Although some individual states currently prohibit retail stores from selling hemp-derived supplements, these products are legal to use in all 50 states and no travel restrictions exist.
7... Will hemp oil cause users to fail a drug test?
As with any cannabis-based product, there is always a chance of testing positive depending on the type of test and what that test is specifically testing for. Users are encouraged to talk with their employer or healthcare provider if this is a concern.
What to look for when choosing a high-quality hemp oil
There’s a lot of hype about hemp out there, and most of it is confusing. But armed with the information contained here, you can feel confident about your ability to choose wisely. After all, it’s your health.
Start by reading the product label to see the full list of ingredients and how many milligrams of phytocannabinoids and other beneficial nutrients the product contains.
Seek brands that publish third-party testing that verifies the information stated on their labels. This is known as a Certificate of Analysis (COA).
Search for information regarding the manufacturing process (such as CO2 extraction or lipid infusion). If you can’t find it on the package or website, call the company directly.
Look specifically to determine whether the products are made from CBD isolate or concentrated oils. Again, if you can’t find information on the package or website, call the company directly.
Check the manufacturer’s website to see if they reveal the source of their hemp. Some buy inferior hemp flower from Asia and Europe. Even worse, others buy untraceable third-party CBD oil and simply
